Shinagawa Refractories opened a booth at ‘ABM WEEK’, a comprehensive expo related to matters regarding steel and mining held during August 1st to 3rd in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

It was the seventh time that the company opened a booth at the expo. Members of SRB, the Brazilian affiliate that Shinagawa Refractories acquired from French company Saint-Gobain, participated in the expo, as well as members from Shinagawa Refractories’ Overseas Business Division, including Managing Executive Officer Heiki Miki, Managing Officer Tadaaki Yamaguchi, General Manager of Americas Yukiyoshi Ohtani and Americas Division member Aoi Yamamoto. The expo was also attended by President Kenji Tobita of Marubeni Eco Materials (headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo).

During the expo, Shinagawa Refractories received a special award for technical excellence from Ternium Brazil in light of realizing ‘improvements in steelmaking throughput yield by developing a new design for the ladle bottom’. In addition, Research Center No.1 Research Division General Manager Eiji Ishihara and Overseas Support Center member Roman Palvanov made a technological presentation.

For the expo, in addition to opening an exhibition booth, the company also provided a well-being space for visitors of the expo to rest. The logo of Shinagawa Refractories and promotional video footage shown at the space helped raise awareness of the company’s brand among expo visitors.
