MISI announced that it has opened a branch office in Nairobi, Kenya under the Europe/Africa branch. After acquiring the approvals to open the branch office in September, the office began operations with Branch Chief Mr. Junki Saito and 3 local national staff.

MISI has been exporting steel products to Sub-Saharan African from the 1950s, and most notably Nairobi is the headquarters location of the Safal Group, a sheet building manufacturer with whom MISI has close ties. Kenya plays a central role in the East African Community (EAC), and MISI will pursue gathering information in a more flexible and agile way by transferring the operations that they have been outsourcing to Marubeni Corporation to their own company’s branch office.

For MISI, the aforementioned branch office is the second one in Africa following their Johannesburg branch office in the Republic of South Africa.
